Erol Kagan – Managing Director

Erol started FinanSys in 1998 out of his deep passion for accounting technology. His accountancy career kicked off after he obtained the AAT qualification and has been working with finance and accounting…

Erol’s favourite quote: “A good leader is like a candle – it consumes itself to light the way for others” 

Erol’s best-kept secret: “I speak three languages. English, Turkish and Karaim. Karaim is a critically endangered language with less than 80 speakers left!”

Tim Dervish – Operations Director

Emma Kagan — Finance Manager 

When it comes to keeping us on track financially and making sure our books are all up to date, Emma is the person we need in charge. As Finance Manager, she oversees all financial aspects of the business..

Emma’s best-kept secret: “Before committing myself to studies and work, I did Taekwondo 3 times a week and was one belt away from achieving black belt”

Erol Kagan
Managing Director

Erol started FinanSys in 1998 out of his deep passion for accounting technology. His accountancy career kicked off after he obtained the AAT qualification and has been working with finance and accounting systems for almost 30 years. 

Erol has lived in a part of London called Shoreditch all his life, from the ’70s now through to the ’20s. He enjoys studying and documenting the history, change, and psychogeography of Shoreditch and the neighbouring city of London. He’s had some of his historic passion for Shoreditch published. 

When Erol started FinanSys, he was the only one working at the company at the time. But in 1999, he employed more people for an international rollout of SunSystems. 

Today, FinanSys is a leading provider in the industry thanks to Erol’s visionary leadership and passion for what we do. His positive energy and welcoming personality are a big part of what makes FinanSys such a fun and productive place to work.

Tim Dervish
Operations Director

As FinanSys’ Operations Director, Tim is responsible for the smooth running of our company and ensuring customers receive outstanding service on all products. 

Tim joined the company more than 10 years ago as Technical Consultant and now leads a team of about 20 committed team members who ensure clients receive the best and most optimal solutions for their needs. 

If he is not on the front line providing high-level expertise in cloud infrastructure and business process analysis, you’d find him spending time with his two beautiful daughters. 

Tim graduated from the University of Hertfordshire and loves getting to explore new places and meeting new people. 

Emma Kagan
Finance Manager

When it comes to keeping us on track financially and making sure our books are all up to date, Emma is the person we need in charge. As Finance Manager, she oversees all financial aspects of the business.

Emma joined FinanSys in 2018 as a trainee accountant, qualified with the AAT accounting qualification in 2021, and currently studies level 2 of the ICAEW.

She’s been able to build a finance department of 8 people from scratch and has successfully implemented the finance and ERP systems we sell, helping the growth of FinanSys.

Emma is passionate about helping FinanSys’ customers grow their organisation by helping them choose and implement the right systems.

She lives in London with her Bichon Frise dog called Missy. In her free time, Emma enjoys yoga, walking Missy, and watching Netflix.
