A Brief History

FinanSys was founded in 1998 to provide affordable and outstanding customer service for users of SunSystems accounting software. We have always strived to be at the cutting edge, leading to many industry firsts, including:

  • the first implementation of SunSystems Version 6
  • the first implementation of SunSystems’ Intelligent Open Network (ION) integration platform
  • the first UK SunSystems partner to offer a fully managed cloud environment supported and maintained by a single provider, making us a convenient ‘one-stop shop’ for customers
  • the first and only SunSystems provider to be accredited by the ICAEW as a training provider – ensuring quality of staff training
  • the first Making Tax Digital VAT solution for SunSystems to be HMRC-compliant.

As registered providers of NetSuite we have a financial management solution for every business. NetSuite is the leading integrated cloud business software suite, including business accounting, enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM) and ecommerce software.

Our Vision

Every aspect of what we do is driven by an informed, customer-centric approach. Our support desk, for example, has the highest ratio of support staff-to-customers within the financial management software community. This gives our customers immediate and unrestricted access to our team of highly qualified support consultants, who have a combined experience of over 50 years as a team.

We’re the only UK partner to provide regular training courses, open to all our customers and their staff. And our focus on maintaining a happy, secure work environment for our team underpins our reliable, long-term relationships with our customers.

When it comes to how FinanSys is run, we always take the long-term view. Thanks to careful reserve-building, we don’t have external investors appease, or risk destabilising the company by floating it. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to avoid putting any of our team members on furlough. Our relatively youthful management team also helps secure continuity of service for our customers.

We’ve always put our clients first, delivering the right solutions whilst keeping corporate responsibility at the heart of our sustainably growing business. We aim to manage our impact on suppliers, communities, clients and the environment, as well as provide a secure and fulfilling work environment for our team. We strive to go beyond the box-ticking culture of much CSR, adopting an inclusive hiring policy and donating at least two software systems to registered charities every year.
