A Brief History

FinanSys was founded in 1998 to provide affordable and outstanding customer service for users of SunSystems accounting software. We have always strived to be at the cutting edge, leading to many industry firsts, including:

  • the first implementation of SunSystems Version 6
  • the first implementation of SunSystems’ Intelligent Open Network (ION) integration platform
  • the first UK SunSystems partner to offer a fully managed cloud environment supported and maintained by a single provider, making us a convenient ‘one-stop shop’ for customers
  • the first and only SunSystems provider to be accredited by the ICAEW as a training provider – ensuring quality of staff training. FinanSys has been authorised by the ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) to train ICAEW Chartered Accountants since 2018.
  • the first Making Tax Digital VAT solution for SunSystems to be HMRC-recognised.

The UniFi Story

UniFi was created by the finance and technology experts at FinanSys, using 25+ years of experience across multiple sectors. FinanSys has been in business since 1998, selling, implementing, maintaining, supporting and hosting core accounting, finance and ERP systems.

During this time, we have noticed that our customers’ needs have grown significantly for add-ins, components and functional enhancements to their core accounting and finance systems (outlined in our use cases).

To fulfil these use cases, customers were purchasing a variety of systems to solve their business needs.

While this solved one problem, it created several others which you may also be experiencing such as significant cost increases, integration issues, multiple licenses & renewal dates, and juggling multiple systems.

FinanSys is a trusted NetSuite Solutions Partner, dedicated to delivering complete NetSuite cloud computing solutions.

Our end-to-end NetSuite services range from implementation to training, support, customisation, integration, and process optimisation, and covers all of NetSuite’s products including financial ERP, CRM, eCommerce, and professional services automation.

Our vision is to give all our customers the best quality of personalised service to be found in the SunSystems and NetSuite landscapes. We do this by ensuring that every aspect of what we do is driven by an informed, customer-centric approach.

Our support desk, for example, has the highest ratio of support staff to customers within the financial management software community. This gives our customers immediate and unrestricted access to our team of highly qualified support consultants, who have a combined experience of over 100 years.
Our approach to training is another example of our customer-centric approach. As a result, FinanSys is the only UK SunSystems partner and NetSuite Solution Provider that provides regular training courses, open to anyone within the financial management community.

When it comes to how FinanSys is run, we always take the long-term view. Thanks to careful reserve-building, we don’t have external investors to appease, or risk destabilising the company by floating it. During the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to avoid putting any of our team members on furlough. Our relatively youthful management team also helps secure continuity of service for our customers.

We’ve always put our clients first, delivering the right solutions whilst keeping corporate responsibility at the heart of our sustainably growing business. We aim to manage our impact on suppliers, communities, clients and the environment, as well as provide a secure and fulfilling work environment for our team. We strive to go beyond the box-ticking culture of much CSR, adopting an inclusive hiring policy and donating at least two software systems to registered charities every year.
