SunSystems’ Seamless Integration
See all your data in one place
Integrating systems within your organisation can provide a number of benefits. One of the main benefits is that it provides you with a single source of data on which to report. Having easy and quick access to your data from across your organisation can help support better business decisions.
Another benefit to integrating systems is that data often originally comes from another source. Integrating systems avoids the need to rekey data, saving you time and reducing the risk of error that is introduced when you rekey data manually.
SunSystems is an excellent place to hold data from other systems because, as your accounting system, it already holds a lot of data about your company. SunSystems also lends itself to holding data from other systems as there are a lot of additional fields available to hold and analyse both financial and non financial data.
Given SunSystems’ integration functionality is so powerful, SunSystems also makes sense as being the main data source within a company. It is very easy to draw data in and send data out to other systems.
- There are three different options for integration within SunSystems:
As the most basic option, the Excel reporting solution for SunSystems also allows data in an Excel format to be mapped and imported in. This is ideal where the data from your source system is infrequently imported or perhaps needs a manual check before posting. End users can easily set-up this integration following training. - The next level of integration is a core module named SunSystems Transfer Desk. Transfer Desk can be scheduled to automatically look for files produced by another system. It can then transform the file, carry out any lookups and then validate and post the data into Sun with potentially no user involvement. Again, end users can maintain changes to the integration themselves.
- The final level of integration is SunSystems Connect which is the optional API module for SunSystems. SunSystems Connect allows applications to talk to each other in real time. It is developed in Java and publishes to the outside world through XML messages. The API is typically maintained by developers.
For integration where the other system is not able to output a file or doesn’t support the use of an API, we also support the use of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). SSIS can be used to assist with a broad range of data migration tasks such as extracting data from another system, transforming it and then passing it to SunSystems.
All of the SunSystems integration tools support uploading both transactional data as well as standing data such as account codes, analysis, suppliers and customers.
Providing your other system contains enough information to create a transaction or record, or the information can be logically worked out, SunSystems can integrate with any system.
Example systems that we have previously worked with include:
- Payroll and Human Resources (HR)
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Billing
- Property Management SystemsDonor Management Systems
- Treasury Management Systems
- Fund Management Systems
- Asset Management Systems
- Time Recording Systems
- Bespoke Systems
Most organisations that we work with require an integration of some form. Whether it be as simple as importing your monthly payroll, or more complex, requiring transformations and look-ups on the data. SunSystems integration gives the flexibility to integration with any of your business systems.
